Union in new zealand

Entry 6 Dip lecture
Union in new zealand
by Sarsh hardman

Unitec lecture and ASTE branch chairperson

Why would I need a union?
Why I think it is a good idea to belong to a union?
since I came to new zealand I really did not think about this questions ,because at that time
no one tell me what the benefit is ,when the boss tell us to do some extra jobs most of my workmates have no words to say,we didn't know exactly what the rule or regulation is about employee's right or responsbility.
How many New Zealand belong to union?
Are the more men or more women union member?
Can the employer choose the union leader?
Now I probably know nearly 330,000 people of employee join the Union and weman just slightly more than man in the Union.
And the member can vote the leader for themself.

Can worker go strike if they are angry with their boss?

The following case, the union member can go strike if
Collective agreement had expired.
When negotiation a new agreement.
Give reasonable notice.
Meet and try to reach agreement.
Share information.
